Logistics and Travel

When attending the 3GPP Working Groups Meeting in Chicago, we want to ensure that you have all the essential information at your fingertips to make your journey and stay as comfortable as possible. Here’s a compilation of general travel details for your convenience:

Time Zone

Chicago operates on Central Standard Time (UTC-6). Please adjust your watches and devices accordingly to stay on schedule.

Airport

The primary international airport serving Chicago is Chicago O’Hare International Airport. It’s well-connected with major cities globally, ensuring ease of travel for all our attendees.

Taxi/Ridesharing

Taxis and rideshare options such as Uber and Lyft are readily available at the airport. The approximate cost of a Taxi or rideshare to the meeting hotels ranges from $40 – $50 (one way).

Public Transportation

Palmer House

From O’Hare International Airport, take the Blue Line train to the Monroe/Dearborn stop. Take Monroe East to the hotel. The Palmer House is on the south side of the street. From Midway Airport, take the Orange Line from Midway to downtown. Get off at the Adams/Wabash stop. The Palmer House is located on the west side of Wabash Avenue.

Hilton Chicago

From O’Hare Airport, take the Blue Line to Jackson, get off at Jackson, and transfer to the Red Line (95th Southbound) take the Red Line to Harrison.  Get off at Harrison and walk East on Balbo to Michigan and make a right; we are located on Balbo and Michigan.  Jackson is 4 blocks away from the Hilton Chicago, about a 12-minute walk.

From Midway Airport, take the Orange line to Roosevelt. Walk 9 minutes to 8th Street and make a right to Michigan, and we are at the corner of Michigan and 8th Street.  You can also transfer from the Orange line to the Red line(Northbound to Howard) and exit at Harrison.

Voltage & Adapters

Chicago, like the rest of the U.S., operates on a voltage of 110V. If your devices aren’t compatible, you’ll need a voltage adapter. Remember, voltage converters won’t be provided at the meeting, so please ensure you have the correct adapter in advance.
